BCD TOFU HOUSE

3575 Wilshire Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90010

Hee Sook Lee and her husband Sang Lee came to the US from Korea in 1989 with their 3 children and noticed that LA was missing the comfort dishes like bibimbap, galbi, kimchi pancakes, and a spicy soft tofu stew called soondubu jjigae (or Soon Tofu) that they enjoyed in Korea. They opened the BDC Tofu House in LA in 1996. BCD is named after the Bukchang Dong district in Korea where Ms. Lee began training in the food industry. From that single restaurant, BDC Tofu House has grown to 12 locations across the country. Each location is individually run by Ms. Lee’s family and her long-time staff who are encouraged to add new items to the core BCD menu.
