The Laugh Factory was founded in 1979 by Jamie Masada, who wanted to create a venue that paid its performers and respected their talent. The club has hosted legendary comedians, like Richard Pryor and Eddie Murphy, and has been the site of memorable events, such as Chappelle’s and Dane Cook’s marathon sets and Michael Richards’ infamous rant. The Laugh Factory also houses a comedy museum, which displays memorabilia and artifacts from comedy icons.


HOLLYWOOD IMPROV

The Hollywood Improv features premier stand-up comedians and live entertainment. The club was opened in 1975 by Budd Friedman, and has hosted many legendary comedians such as Richard Pryor, Jerry Seinfeld, Ellen DeGeneres, Dave Chappelle, and more. It also has a smaller venue called The Lab, where emerging and experimental comedians perform. It is a great place to enjoy a night of laughter and fun.


THE COMEDY STORE

Owned by comedian Pauly Shore, the son of the late Mitzi Shore, Comedy Store opened in 1972 and has nurtured comedy stars for 40+ years. The club has three rooms: the Original Room, the Main Room, and the Belly Room, each with its own vibe and style. These rooms feature some of the best comedians in the industry, such as Craig Robinson, Nikki Glaser, and Harland Williams, as well as emerging talents and special guests. The Comedy Store's location also has a storied history, as it was once a nightclub called Ciro’s, where celebrities like Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, and Dean Martin used to hang out.


THE VIRGIL

The Virgil is a unique blend of neighborhood cocktail bar and entertainment space. Housed in a historic 1920s building, the club served as a speakeasy during the Prohibition era. The “Stage Side” area provides an ideal backdrop for stand-up performances, improv, and character-driven comedy, while the "B Side" plays host to DJs and dancing. Co-owner Paul Tao is a passionate advocate for comedy and entertainment, and The Virgil has featured Maria Bamford, Ron Funches, and Cameron Esposito.
